What types of classes are offered at Above and Beyond Community Classes?

Above and Beyond Community Classes offer a diverse range of courses designed to cater to individuals of all abilities and interests. From practical life skills to creative arts and wellness practices, there's something for everyone. Head to the "Our Classes" tab for a comprehensive view of our offerings. Here, you can browse through various subjects and even download our course catalog for more details.

02

How many students do you have in each class?

Class sizes vary, however we try not to exceed 14 students per class. We believe in keeping class sizes small and thoughtful so each student is comfortable to actively participate while receiving meaningful feedback.

Enrollment is first-come, first-serve. If there is enough of a demand, a second section may become available, which is why we ask you to let us know what you are interested in as soon as possible.

03

How much do classes cost?

For an 8-week course, we charge a wallet-friendly $360. And, the more classes you take, the greater the savings you'll receive.

Additionally, part of our mission through our nonprofit, Blue Umbrella Experience, is to make sure our classes and programming are an accessible option for all. Therefore, we are happy to provide an invoice and attendance towards third-party reimbursement and work directly with third-party payees whenever possible.

We are working towards a class sponsorship program and appreciate any donations to assist with making sure all who would like to take our classes can.

04

Are there any prerequisites or requirements for attending classes?

Our classes welcome everyone, regardless of skill level or ability – no prerequisites required! Our instructors specialize in differentiated instruction, ensuring that each student progresses at their own pace, resulting in an enriching learning experience for all.

NOTE

Blue Umbrella Experience, Inc. is the nonprofit offering Above and Beyond Community Classes, Inc.  This distinction is necessary so that we are able to focus our fundraising efforts and build our Friends of Ben scholarship with BUE.

The focus of ABC Classes will be on delivering interactive Community Classes that offer fitness and wellness, creative expression, enrichment, and chances to learn new skills while building a sense of community.

Please note:

That in signing up for and signing on to any of our classes, even, just a trial class, you agree to release BUE/ABC Class staff and instructors from any and all liability.

For students that choose to take classes with us in person at our Smithtown location, please know that we will continue to follow current CDC guidelines for the wellbeing of our community. Due to uncertainties in our current health climate and in the interest of the safety of all students and staff, BUE reserves the right to pivot all community class and in-person activity to a purely virtual environment. Please be aware that you agree to this policy as a condition of registration. If by following federal, state, or local guidelines, BUE transitions classes to a virtual environment, we, unfortunately, cannot issue refunds for said classes.

We thank you and we look forward to seeing you in class and our next get-together!
